ahh it’s most fun thing ever. Your man the director’s deliciously irascible tone (“you’ll be lucky if you get anything at all” when the AP queries the aston gender) was a delight. Most directors I know stay preternaturally cool with a generous, professional and even jolly tone in their ‘do we have VT on 33? no? I don’t have any scripts past 64 – any chance of getting those?” which runs ice through your veins because you know they’re so going to get you, the producer, and make garters from your guts the instant they get out of that gallery. Gulp. There’s nothing quite like coming out after a show like this having remained on the on the air and not gone to black by the skin of your teeth. A bit akin to staying on a bucking bronco. (btw how fab was Phil H?)
